WhatsApp For iOS Updates Design With New Liquid Glass Floating Chat Bar

WhatsApp is currently implementing a series of design modifications across its mobile platforms, with a recent focus on enhancing the user interface for iOS. The latest beta version for iPhone (26.7.10.74) introduces a significant visual overhaul of the chat input bar by integrating aesthetic elements inspired by Apple’s “Liquid Glass” design language. This update represents a shift toward a more modern and integrated look that aligns closely with the native styling of the iOS ecosystem.

The most prominent change in this update involves the structural positioning of the navigation and input elements; instead of the traditional fixed block anchored to the bottom of the screen, the chat bar has been transformed into a floating component. This detached design provides a sense of depth and fluidity, making the interface feel less rigid.

Within this new floating structure, the internal icons and interactive fields have also undergone a visual reorganization. The attachment button, the text input field, and the sticker keyboard shortcut are now more distinctly highlighted. Furthermore, the camera function and the voice recording shortcut have been separated into individual elements, moving away from the previous unified background layout.

According to reports from WABetaInfo, the primary objective of this redesign is to provide a user experience that feels more organic to the iPhone while simultaneously minimizing visual clutter to keep the focus on the conversation itself. By adopting these floating elements, Meta aims to create a more immersive environment that mirrors the contemporary design trends found in other high-end iOS applications.

While these features are currently visible to beta testers, there is no official release date for the general public using the stable version of the app. In addition to these aesthetic changes, the platform is reportedly testing new privacy features and refinements to its polling system.
