Motorola Unveils Moto Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus at MWC 2026

During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, Motorola expanded its accessory ecosystem by launching the Moto Buds 2 and Moto Buds 2 Plus. Debuting alongside new hardware like the Edge 70 Fusion, these wireless earbuds highlight a collaboration with Bose for sound engineering and Pantone for color design, while integrating advanced AI features.

Moto Buds 2 Plus: Premium Audio and AI Integration

The flagship Moto Buds 2 Plus features an in-ear design with silicone tips to support its Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system, which is capable of reducing ambient noise by up to 55 dB. The audio is driven by dual 11mm dynamic drivers designed to provide a balanced profile of deep bass and crisp trebles.

This model supports High-Resolution Audio, Spatial Audio, and Dolby Atmos. A standout feature is Dolby Head Tracking, which creates an immersive 360-degree soundstage when paired with compatible Motorola Edge smartphones. Additionally, the earbuds utilize AI for real-time conversation translation and a sophisticated microphone array for call clarity. Battery life is rated at 9 hours of continuous playback, extending to 40 hours with the wireless-charging-compatible case.

Moto Buds 2: Performance and Endurance

The standard Moto Buds 2 offers a slightly different internal configuration, pairing 11mm dynamic drivers with 6mm tweeters. Despite its lower price point, it maintains a potent 55 dB dynamic ANC and includes a Transparency Mode for situational awareness.

While it lacks some of the “Plus” model’s tracking features, the Moto Buds 2 excels in endurance, offering up to 11 hours of playback per charge and a total of 48 hours including the charging case. It features a six-microphone system to ensure high-quality voice capture during calls.

Pricing and Availability

Motorola has confirmed the European pricing, with a global rollout expected to follow shortly. The Moto Buds 2 Plus is priced at €149.90 (~$162 USD), while the Moto Buds 2 enters the market at €79.90 (~$86 USD). Color options across the lineup include Pantone-certified shades such as Silhouette, Cool White, Carbon, and Violet Ice.
